Fine weather, a little too warm. To the promenade (vicuna outfit). At Visconti's we bought tickets for the carnival. Then to Lefevre's with Mlle Collignon to look for a book. On the way back we saw Boreel, who was probably going to pay a call on the Vicomtesse Vigier.
Then home to fetch Biasini, and we went to view "Belmare" — it is far too small for us. (Mlle Antonsky and Mme Markevitch came to see Maman, who is still unwell.)
On returning I told the household that we must think of nothing other than "Canepa." I went on foot with Emile to speak with Mme Canepa. I saw Vigier; we exchanged greetings. Where is Hamilton, why does one never see him? How vexing. My great worry now is that, having scratched out "Hamilton" on the map of Scotland, I am afraid of reaching it in my geography lessons.
