Teatro Pagliano (Florence)

Overview

Florentine theatre built for Girolamo Pagliano on the site of the old Stinche prison, opened in 1854 and renamed Teatro Verdi in 1901 (en.wikipedia «Teatro Verdi (Florence)»).

• September 1875, during the Michelangelo centenary: the family is given a box («la clef de la loge et deux cartes d'entrée», 043.0198) and goes «à huit heures … au théâtre Pagliano» (043.0206).
• 1 May 1877: with the Pergola closed, she hears Wagner's Rienzi there with Marcuard and understands nothing of the music; «Ce théâtre n'est pas à la mode» (071.0083–0084).
