Prince Radzivill

Overview

A Prince Radziwill (the Polish-Lithuanian princely house; en.wikipedia «Radziwiłł family») seen at Ostend in August 1874. The Mon Journal t.4 index has «Radzivill (prince), 109»; he is not otherwise identified. A separate, empty entry, RADZIVILL, exists.

Relevance to Marie

21 August 1874 at Ostend: Basilévitch tells her that «plusieurs Plobsters et le prince Radzivill ont passé plusieurs fois pour regarder mes pieds»; her aunt is pleased (023.0256). A few lines later, looking toward the door where Radzivill is going out, she sees «Plobster, le véritable» (023.0259). So he is one of the men who look at the girl at the Ostend balls.

Identity uncertain

Which Radziwill this is cannot be told from the diary; the family had many princes. If you can identify him, we would be glad to hear from you.
