Overview

M. de la Tour was a minor recurring acquaintance in Marie's Paris social circle in 1883, appearing among the guests at gatherings and at the Salon vernissage. Per Apostolescu's name index to the raw carnet transcription (Book 15), "La Tour (M. de)" appears on pages 8, 14, and 233 of that notebook -- page 233 corresponding to the vernissage entry of 1883-04-30 (099.0247), where he is named alongside the Canroberts, Bojidar, and Sautereau.

Possible Identity Note

A later entry (Book 16, raw carnet lines c. 1420, early October 1883) describes an evening "troublée par la visite des deux MM. de la Tour, ils sont jumeaux" -- disturbed by the visit of the two Messrs. de la Tour, who are twins. It is plausible this refers to the same family circle as the "M. de la Tour" of April 1883, but the diary does not explicitly confirm the identity, and the earlier mentions (pages 8, 14 of Book 15) do not specify twins. Treated as the same minimal entry pending further identification.

Relevance to Marie

Appears as one of the social acquaintances present during the morning of the Salon vernissage on 1883-04-30, alongside "les Canrobert," Bojidar, and Sautereau (099.0247).
