Chapron
Також відомий як: Chapron
Overview
A journalist, or the author of a newspaper's commentaries, in the quarrel of the feminist society of Hubertine Auclert in the summer of 1881. In the dispute described on 18 August 1881, commandant d'Epailly writes an article on the women's demonstration of 14 July; Lévrier answers in La Citoyenne; Epailly then writes a mocking letter to L'Événement, and «Chapron la fait suivre de commentaires injurieux et ridicules»; Lévrier writes to Chapron «qui à Royat...» (092.0422). The Mon Journal indexes consulted do not list the name.
Relevance to Marie
Marie attends the society's meeting (fourteen members) that votes the expulsion of Epailly and of Mlle Drouin, who had slandered Hubertine Auclert: an episode of her feminist activity in Paris.
Identity uncertain
We are not sure who Chapron was. The paragraph has him add commentaries to a letter published in L'Événement and receive a letter from Lévrier at Royat, which suggests a journalist of that paper; no source consulted gives a first name. If you can identify him, we would be glad to hear from you.
