Gayarre

Julián Gayarre (1844–1890), the Spanish (Navarrese) tenor, one of the great lyric tenors of the 1870s–80s (en.wikipedia «Julián Gayarre»). Marie writes «Gayarre»/«Gayarré». The Mon Journal t.14 index lists «Gayarre, acteur: 293» and t.16 «Gayarre (Edouard), chanteur», which the RSR note on 104.0157 corrects.

• 1884-02-16 (103.0340), Paris: «nous avons Gayarré l'incomparable ténor espagnol. Je l'avais entendu à Monaco il y a deux ans. Il chante encore mieux. On lui fait une ovation dont il se souviendra.»
• 1884-05-10 (104.0157): «On chante "Lucie" mais après Gayarre ce ténor ordinaire et froid me fait pitié.»
