Relevance to Marie

At the Apollo masked ball on 7 February 1877 Marie, disguised, teases him about Antonelli in Italian (068.1006-0664) and sends him through the crowd to fetch Pizzardi, «le plus bel homme de Rome»; «le bon Ingami» brings back the man whom Marie at first refuses to believe is Pizzardi (068.1014-0684).

First seen in April 1876, spelled «Yngami»: «un certain Yngami [sic] je crois qui est l'ami des frères Antonelli et que je déteste parce qu'il a l'air d'un malin, d'un cancanier», who was at the Naples races and came back to Rome on the family's train; Marie fears he will warn the Antonellis of her return (059.0191, 059.0194). Mon Journal t.7 index: «Yngami (M.) : 294». The friend of the Antonellis in both passages makes the identification with the Ingami of 1877 likely (0.8).
