The Binder coachbuilding house of Paris ("Binder, le célèbre carrossier", 063.0054), run in Marie's time by Henry Binder (1830–1901); the firm, in Paris since about 1820, lasted until 1951 (Artcurial sale catalogue, lot 12A, sale 3887, "1928 Rolls-Royce 20HP Cabriolet par Binder"; Compiègne museum watercolour signed Henry Binder, RMN photo agency). Marie's family looks at carriages there on 1 September 1875 (041.0026: "il demande six mille trois cents francs pour tout ce qu'il y a de plus beau au monde"), orders a landau and a duc in November 1875 (entries 1875-11-22 and 1875-11-24, carnet 050), and the debt is paid in July 1876 (063, 1876-07-10). Whether the candidate Binder of the 1879 electoral clipping (084, 1879-04-06) is the same man was not checked.
