Alfeda-da-fé

Overview

A signature Marie invented in December 1875 for an anonymous note to Emile d'Audiffret («Sardanapale de la Tour, tu pourriras. / Le dehors est fleuri / Le dedans est pourri»), a play on auto-da-fé. The note was not sent; maman sent the same verse from Monte-Carlo as a telegram, signed the same way. One of the masks of the Audiffret campaign (see MOINES_DE_CIMIEZ).
