On 2 December 1874 Mme Markevitch brings to Marie's mother what «Schablikine qui sort de chez elle» has said: that the foreign colony, tired of Georges Babanine's scandals and above all his affair with Prodgers, wants to ask the new prefect, M. Decrais, to expel him from the Alpes-Maritimes (027.0121; see DECRAIS, PRODGERS). On 19 December he is at the theatre among the young men in the stalls, in Marie's verses: «Polandoff, d'Olivier, Shablikine Jean» (027.0325).References in Diary
