Historical drama by Alexandre Dumas, which Marie sees at the Odéon on 31 May 1874: «Maman est fâchée pour moi, elle prit une loge à l'Odéon pour "La jeunesse de Louis XIV". J'ai enjoyed la pièce, ces sujets me plaisent toujours» (020.0016). The play was rejected by the Paris censors in 1854 and performed only in Brussels; the Paris production of 1874 used a revision by Dumas fils (Princeton University Library finding aid C1659, Dumas fils's annotated proofs c. 1874). The Odéon as the venue is Marie's own statement and is not independently confirmed.
