We return the call to Mme Berteaux, then I come home to find Claire and Villevieille painting.My statue drives me mad — at moments it seems to me deranged, then superb, then hideous...
In the evening, more of yesterday's sort — the Engelhardts. They disgust me after the newspaper affair.
Nous rendons sa visite à Mme Berteaux et je rentre chez moi où je trouve Claire et Villevieille peignant. Ma statue m'affole, par moments elle me semble détraquée, puis superbe, puis affreuse... Le soir suite du genre d'hier, les Engelhardt, ils me dégoûtent après l'histoire du journal.
