There is a ball this evening at the Hôtel Continental in aid of the women's charitable association. Maman being a patroness, we go. I wear white tulle with a garland of lily of the valley across the dress.
Brisbane is with us, very charming. I do not dance — that goes without saying — but we are very much surrounded.
Many acquaintances and nothing interesting, except perhaps Madame Presseq, who was with the Kanchines, to whom I had wished to show myself other than in working clothes.
I work on the painting and a portrait of Bojidar — very stylish… Bojidar and Alexis are our commissioners and our other escorts are Messrs. de Souis de Saporta, Engelhardt, Lachaud, Sautereau, Goujon (a Franco-Russian, very rich they say) and many others.
