There is talk of making the trip...
You know — Melissano, Larderei's famous friend, is here; he came to call on us and came back again last evening.
Julian spends the evening teasing us about our passions for Tony, and about what passions we inspire in him; at midnight we have chocolate. Dina is very gracious... besides [words blacked out: I understand that one] reserves [words blacked out: one's graces for strangers] for the connoisseurs.
I always dress with special care for artists — and quite differently. Long dresses without corset, with draperies; [words blacked out: and in] society they would not find the waist thin enough nor the dress sufficiently fashionable; and so all my prettiest fancies — too extravagant for society — will serve for the Ministry of Fine Arts.
I dream — imagine it — always, of establishing a salon full of celebrated people...
