Villevieille, always elegant and correct, dines with us; she plays the piano like an angel — the instrument one detests becomes a delight beneath her fingers. Poor girl, she will never marry; she must be a good forty years old; but painted and polished, with a magnificent figure, still pretty... I wonder what can have prevented her fromVillevieille toujours elegante et correcte dine avec nous, elle joue du piano comme un ange, le piano que l'on deteste devient un instrument delicieux sous ses doigts. Pauvre fille, elle ne se mariera pas, elle a bien quarante ans; mais peinte, astiquee, taille magnifique, encore jolie... Je me demande ce qui l'a empeche de
marrying — pretty, a good name, good connections, full of talents, intelligent.
