Saint Amand dined with us the day before yesterday; he had left Dieppe that morning. He is going to write to Chabral, architect of the Théâtre Français. For I am resolved to build. I think of it at every moment. It is an ardent desire to be at last in my own home. The very thought of having one's own place is a pleasure. But the lawsuit will not be finished for three or four months, and before it is settled one can neither commit nor sell.# Jeudi 1er septembre 1881
