H. W. Marschal

Owner of the horse Trent, winner of the 100,000-franc race run on 14 June 1874 («Enfin voilà le prix de cent mille francs ... Le vainqueur est Trent à M. H. W. Marschal. C'est le tour des Anglais cette année», 020.0271), evidently the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp (run in mid-June, prize 100,000 francs; the diary does not name the race). A 1916 Daily Racing Form article names Trent as the property of a Mr. Marshall (the initials are garbled in the OCR) and a 1920 one lists Trent among English winners of the Grand Prix de Paris (Daily Racing Form, drf.uky.edu, 1916-10-13 and 1920-07-18); the year is not stated in either. Marie spells the owner «Marschal».
