• Train: The primary long-distance transport; Marie notes train types (omnibus vs. express), compartment types (coupé), and travel companions
• Carriage: For city and regional travel; calèche, landau, fiacre, etc.
• Ship: For Mediterranean crossings
• On foot: Walking as both exercise and social activity
