Margherita Maria Teresa Giovanna di Savoia (20 November 1851 -- 4 January 1926) was the Queen consort of Italy as the wife of King Umberto I, who reigned from 1878 to 1900. She was widely admired for her beauty, elegance, and patronage of the arts.
