Lefurel

Lefurel (Hector Lefuel)

Marie's «M. Lefurel architecte du Louvre», the father of Mme Hochon (101.0325, 10 Sept 1883). The architect of the New Louvre was Hector Lefuel (1810-1881), who took charge of the completion of the Louvre after Visconti's death in 1853 (Wikipedia, «Hector Lefuel»; BnF data record). The spelling «Lefurel» is Marie's. No source consulted confirms that Mme Hochon was his daughter, so the identification rests on Marie's phrase. See HOCHON.
