Gustave Boulanger
Également connu sous : Gustave Boulanger, Boulanger, M. Boulanger
Gustave Boulanger (1824-1888)
Academic painter and one of the three principal masters of the Académie Julian, alongside Jules Lefebvre and Tony Robert-Fleury. He taught in the men's ateliers and, with the other masters, judged the competitions of the women's atelier where Marie studied. He is the "Boulanger" of Marie's art-school years (1878-1884), not the baker of 1873-07-13 ("Épousez un boulanger") and not General Boulanger.
Created from the retired stub Boulanger (culture/history/BOULANGER).
