Identity

Mme Francine, a couturière (dressmaker) in Vienna: Mon Journal t.1 index, «Francine (Mme), couturière» (pp. 124, 248, 251). Marie and her aunt use her during the Vienna trip for the 1873 World Exhibition, and the dress made there is later the model for a copy in Nice.

• 1873-08-07 (007): «d'abord chez Francine, ma robe n'est pas finie».
• 1873-08-11 (008): «Chez Francine, on vient demain pour ma robe».
• 1873-08-12 (008): «Francine a pris ma robe à arranger.»
• 1874-03-26 (017): back in Nice, unable to dress there («je ne puis m'habiller à Nice, ailleurs qu'à Paris»), the family decides «de répéter mon costume vert de chez Francine»; 1874-03-27 (017): she searches Nice for «des boutons comme ceux de Francine» and buys the cloth for the green dress.
