I am not painting at all; I am making my statue first in small scale, about a metre high. Yesterday there were the Engelhardts and Mme Bogdanoff; this evening the Karageorgevitches. I never really converse with any of them, besides...Je ne peins pas du tout, je fais ma statue d'abord en petit, près d'un mètre de haut.
