I went to see the [competition] for the Prix de Rome at the École with Mademoiselle de Villevielle — a young lady who comes to the studio but is very well-bred and belonging by family to the high society of the Faubourg Saint-Germain. Her mother is a marquise, but unfortunately poor.
Je suis allée voir les [concours] pour le Prix de Rome à l'Ecole avec Mlle de Villevielle, une demoiselle qui vient à l'atelier mais très comme il faut et appartenant par sa famille au grand monde du Faubourg Saint Germain. Sa mère est marquise mais pauvre malheureusement.
